some art for ruby quest! cause like, both it and nan quest are honestly some of my favorite pieces of media out of everything else i’ve seen/read and ive just been wanting to make some big digital piece for it for years now, but i just kept putting it off, to be honest tho i’m kinda glad i kept putting it off? cause my arts a lot better now a days so i’m actually rlly proud of how this turned out! i was also trying out some new coloring techniques on this and i think they look pretty nice tbh!

Fourth post tonight is rubyquest! I’ve always wanted to make a rubyquest fangame you guys. I love it so much. Rubyquest is so great.

Maybe I’ll actually finish this game? I’m thinking a mix between exploration and visual novel and “point and click” and idk. It would be the cat’s pajamas that’s for sure!

Ah, I get it. You're going to say 'You're trapped!' or some trite little villain's commonplace, aren't you? No such luck. YOU'RE the one that's trapped. Trapped in your obsession, bound to your two little playthings, feeding and washing and slavishly cleaning up after what are 'supposed' to be pets. You don't run this game. There's no referee. Ah, this really takes me back. It was nearly three or so years ago, I was in my community college's piano lab when I got the crazy inspiration to write some RubyQuest fan music. I believe I had written down two themes: first the theme for the series proper ("The Metal Glen") and the second one became Red's theme ("Just Kidding"). Perhaps its silly for me to feel so nostalgic about a little theme I wrote back in 2011, but regardless writing this felt like coming home from a long days journey. 

But enough of me getting mushy over all that. As you know, this is the theme for Ruby and the entire story in general. The theme serving as a sort of somber elegy for the victims of the glen. I really like how well this came out. There's no way I would've been able to pull this off in my old method of music writing. I'm ever so glad I'm finally capable of doing something I've wanted to do for awhile now. Hope you all enjoy!
